03 June 2025 – SIQUIJOR, PROVINCE OF SIQUIJOR. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Negros Island Region successfully conducted its first-ever Civil Registry System (CRS) Mobile Outlet in the Municipality of Siquijor, Province of Siquijor on June 3, 2025. This significant initiative marks another first for the Regional Statistical Services Office of Negros Island Region (RSSO NIR), and shall serve as the starting point to the public service journey of the regional office in bringing essential civil registration services closer to the residents of Siquijor.
The event was graced by the presence of National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD. Also in attendance were Siquijor Provincial Administrator Cyrus S. Olpoc, PSA-Negros Island Region (NIR) Interim Regional Director John F. Campomanes, Officer-in-Charge-Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA-Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office Engr. Joselito C. Maghanoy, and PSA-Negros Oriental Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Ariel T. Fortuito.
The PSA CRS Mobile Team provided on-site printing of civil registration documents, catering directly to the requests of Siquijor's citizens. A ceremonial release of the first printed Security Paper (SECPA) copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates was personally awarded to the requestors by Undersecretary Mapa, Interim Regional Director Campomanes, Provincial Administrator Olpoc, OIC-CSS Maghanoy, CSS Fortuito, and CRS Mobile Outlet Team Leader Edwin P. Guiking.
Further enhancing service delivery, teams for the National ID and the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) were also present. Notably, a 72-year-old woman received her first copy of a birth certificate as a beneficiary of the BRAP, highlighting the project's impact on vulnerable populations.
In a forward-looking move, Undersecretary Mapa also initiated a consultative meeting with Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Brylle Deeiah Tumarong-Quio and Siquijor Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (SCCII) President Arthur Chan. Discussions centered on future plans to further enhance civil registration services within the Province of Siquijor.
This pioneering CRS Mobile Outlet underscores PSA's commitment to improving access to vital civil registration documents and services for all Filipinos.
