11 AUGUST 2025 – BACOLOD CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental conducts the Fourth Level Training for Statistical Researchers on the 2025 Updating of List of Agricultural Farm Operators (ULAFO) and Inland Municipal Fishing Households and 2025 Listing of Marine Fish Landing Centers (LMFLC) First Batch from August 11 to 15, 2025. PSA Officer-in-Charge Diesah S. Biaoco delivers her welcome message by encouraging the hired SRs to actively participate in the training.

This five-day training is designed to prepare hired statistical researchers throughout the province with the vital skills and program understanding needed to effectively carry out the listing activity. It will introduce participants to the survey’s concepts and objectives, while providing hands-on exercises to strengthen their abilities in using devices and engaging with communities.

Highlight of this activity was the visit of National Statistician and Civil Registrar General (NSCRG) Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD., He underscored the significance of this nationwide undertaking for the agricultural and fisheries sector. He explained that the results will serve as the basis for updating the list of operators and landing centers, which is essential for developing an improved sampling frame for future agricultural and fisheries surveys and for generating product estimates. He also stressed the importance of gathering precise and reliable data during field enumeration.

The first batch of training consists of 148 hired statistical researchers from Districts 3, 5, and 6 of the province. Serving as resource persons are the Regional Focal Person, Provincial Focal Person, staff from the Provincial Statistical Office, and 18 Team Supervisors assigned to their respective districts, all of whom will contribute their expertise to enrich the program on the topics and in the field.
