The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) participated in a tree planting activity held on June 25, 2025 in Barangay Pisong B, Maria, Siquijor, in celebration of Philippine Arbor Day every June 25 under Presidential Proclamation No. 643 and Republic Act No. 10176 with the aim to promote tree planting and environmental awareness nationwide.

The activity was organized by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Siquijor and aimed to promote the conservation and sustainability of the environment through community involvement. PSA Siquijor PSO personnel joined along with other government agencies, including the Department of Education (DepEd), headed by the Schools Division Superintendent of Siquijor, Dr. Rosalie M. Pasaol, along with various local government officials and volunteers in planting native tree species (Molave) in the designated area.

PSA Siquijor continues to extend its support and commitment to environmental causes, reinforcing its contribution to Siquijor’s overall progress beyond its statistical functions.
The PSA Siquijor remains steadfast in supporting PENRO-Siquijor’s environmental initiatives as part of its corporate social responsibility and its sustained commitment to fulfilling responsibilities beyond its mandate, including accountability for the impact of its activities on stakeholders and the environment.

PENRO Siquijor expressed their gratitude for the collaborative efforts of all participating agencies, emphasizing the vital role of inter-agency cooperation in tackling environmental challenges and fostering ecological responsibility. Despite the difficult and rugged terrain leading up to the planting site, the participants remained committed and determined to carry out the reforestation activity successfully.
