Negros Occidental’s June 2025 Inflation Rate for All Income Households decreased to 1.2 percent with 2.2 percent Year-to-Date inflation.


Bacolod City also eased at 0.5 percent with 2.5 Year-to-Date inflation.

Negros Occidental’s Inflation Rate for All Income Household decreased to 1.2 percent compared to previous month’s rate of 2.4 percent and declined against June 2024 with 4.5 percent. (Please see Figure 1)

Some commodities have a negative annual growth rate like; Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at 0.0 percent from 1.5 percent in May 2025, Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco at 6.8 percent from 7.1 percent, Clothing and Footwear at 4.6 percent from 5.2 percent, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels at 1.1 percent from 4.2 percent, Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance at 1.9 percent from 2.3 percent, and Recreation, Sport and Culture at 3.0 percent from 3.1 percent.

While these commodities manifest a positive growth rate in June 2025; Transport at -0.3 percent from -1.6 percent in May 2025, and Education Services at 21.5 percent from 18.4 percent.

The indices of the rest of the commodities retained their previous month’s annual growth rates. (See Figure 2)

In Bacolod City, the Inflation Rate for All Income Households also decreased to 0.5 percent from 2.4 percent in May 2025 and against last year June 2024 at 6.1 percent. (See Figure 3)

The decrease on the year-on-year inflation rate was attributed by negative indices in some commodities like; Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at -0.5 percent from 1.5 percent in May 2025, Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco at 5.7 percent from 5.9 percent, Clothing and Footwear at 3.8 percent from 4.7 percent, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels at -4.7 percent from 1.8 percent, Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance at 1.6 percent from 1.9 percent, Recreation, Sport and Culture at 4.9 percent from 5.0 percent, and Personal Care & Miscellaneous Goods and Services at 5.0 percent from 5.1 percent.

Relative to their annual rates, higher inflation rates were observed in some commodities like: Health at 5.8 percent from 5.7 percent, and Transport at -2.5 percent from -4.1 percent, and Education Services at 17.3 percent from 14.9 percent in May 2025.

The indices of the rest of the commodities retained their previous month’s annual growth rates. (See Figure 4)

Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages inflation, in Negros Occidental’s monthly decreased on the seasonally adjusted CPI for June 2025 resulted to a recede in inflation at 0.0 percent from 1.5 percent in May 2025 and decline against June 2024 with 5.8 percent. Bacolod City also exhibited a decrease to -0.5 percent from 1.5 percent in May 2025 and decline against last year of the same month with 7.1 percent. (See Table 2)

Negros Occidental’s Annual growth rate for the seasonally adjusted Consumer price Index (CPI) for June 2025, exhibited a decrease in some food commodities like; Cereals & Cereals Products at -4.8 percent from -1.5 percent in May 2025, Rice at -6.5 percent from -2.3 percent, Corn at -0.9 percent from 1.8 percent, Meat and Other Parts of Slaughtered Land Animals at 2.7 percent from 3.2 percent, Fish and Other Seafoods at 1.8 percent from 2.3 percent, Vegetables/Tubers/Cooking Bananas and Pulses at 2.4 percent from 3.8 percent, Sugar/Confectionery and Desserts at -0.7 percent from -0.6 percent, Ready-Made Food and Other Food Products N.E.C. at 1.5 percent from 2.5 percent, and Non- Alcoholic Beverages at 3.8 percent from 3.9 percent.    

Annual rates of increases were recorded in the following food commodities like: Flour/Bread and Other Bakery Products, Pasta Products and Other Cereals at 1.0 percent from 0.9 percent, Milk, Other Dairy Products, and Eggs at 6.2 percent from 6.1 percent, Oils and Fats at 0.6 percent from -1.4 percent, and Fruits and Nuts at 3.6 percent from 3.2 percent. (See Table 3)

In Bacolod City, year-on-year inflation slightly slowed down  to -0.5 percent for  Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages for the month of June 2025 the decrease were noted in some commodities like; Cereals & Cereals Products at -8.9 percent from -5.5 percent in May 2025, Rice at -12.6 percent from -8.0 percent, Corn at 4.1 percent from 4.6 percent, Flour, Bread and Other Bakery Products, Pasta Products, and Other Cereals at 1.2 percent from 1.4 percent, Meat and Other Parts of Slaughtered Land Animals at 1.7 percent from 2.8 percent, Fish and Other Seafoods at 5.4 percent from 9.1 percent, Milk, Other Dairy Products, and Eggs at 4.1 percent from 4.2 percent, Vegetables/Tubers/Cooking Bananas and Pulses at -4.6 percent from 1.4 percent, Sugar/Confectionery and Desserts at 0.8 percent from 1.0 percent, and Ready-Made Food and Other Food Products N.E.C. at 2.4 percent from 3.8 percent.    

Annual growth rates showed an increase in the following commodities like: Oils and Fats at 2.0 percent from 0.2 percent, Fruits and Nuts at 5.5 percent from 2.9 percent, and Non- Alcoholic Beverages at 7.9 percent from 6.5 percent. (See Table 4)

Non-Food Inflation for June 2025, Negros Occidental decreased to 2.0 percent from 2.7 percent in May 2025. These were noted in some commodity group like; Clothing and Footwear, Housing/Water/Electricity/Gas and Other Fuels, Furnishing/Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, Transport, and Recreation, Sport and Culture. Bacolod City, also posted at 0.8 percent from 2.7 percent in May 2025 this were due to the annual year-on-year decreases in the indices of some commodities group like; Clothing and Footwear, Housing/Water/Electricity/Gas and Other Fuels, Furnishing/Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, Recreation, Sport and Culture, and Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods and Services. (See Table 5)
