In line with the provisions of the Republic Act 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act, the National ID is the primary proof identity in all government and private transactions. With this, all government offices and private institutions are required to acknowledge and accept all forms of the National ID as proof of identity of their clients.
One of the first to integrate the National ID to their system is the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which is now requiring their beneficiaries to have National IDs in order to receive their financial grants. To ensure that all beneficiaries of the DSWD will receive a National ID, the PSA intensified the National ID registration, most especially for senior citizens, deploying additional registration kits and personnel to conduct mobile registration in to each city/municipality across the province.
PSA – Negros Oriental coordinated with Local Government Units through the Local Civil Registry Offices for information dissemination of the upcoming registration schedule in each municipality, bringing the services of the National ID System nearer to the public. This initiative of PSA Negros Oriental expedites the coverage of senior citizens in the National ID System, making sure that they will be able to comply with the requirement of National ID to receive their financial grants.
