The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) successfully presented the preliminary results of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maria on July 31, 2025.
The presentation was attended by EnP. Jake Maglahus, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Ms. Sharee Ann S. Suminguit, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer along with representatives from various LGU departments.
The 2024 CBMS results offer a comprehensive overview of the socio-economic conditions in the barangays of Maria. These include data on health, education, employment, housing, and access to basic services, the critical indicators that reflect the well-being of the local population.
During the presentation, PSA Siquijor emphasized that CBMS helps identify community needs, measure poverty, and guide local actions in line with national goals. With timely and detailed data, LGUs can make better and more focused decisions.

PSA Siquijor affirmed its continued commitment to supporting LGUs through collaborative data sharing and capacity building initiatives. The agency will continue to assist local planners and decision-makers in utilizing CBMS data to enhance public service delivery and achieve inclusive development.
Further validation and dissemination activities are set to take place in the coming months as part of PSA Siquijor’s effort to ensure that the results reach all stakeholders and inform future planning.
