The Philippine Statistics Authority–Siquijor presented the preliminary results of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) for the Municipality of Siquijor on August 8, 2025, at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Siquijor.

 

Municipal Mayor Atty. Adam S. Duhaylungsod, Municipal Engineer/OIC Engr. Gregster B. Cortes, department heads, and representatives from various LGU offices attended the event, underscoring the local government’s commitment to data-driven development.

During the presentation, PSA-Siquijor emphasized the CBMS as a vital tool for generating community-level data that supports evidence-based local governance. The results provide critical insights that can guide the LGU in their targeted program implementation, resource allocation, and development planning.

 

 

 

 

 

The conducted 2024 POPCEN-CBMS is a nationwide initiative designed to provide policymakers and planners with reliable, updated data essential for households with open defecation, unsafe water sources reduction, social protection, and overall community development. By aligning programs with actual local needs, the system ensures that interventions are both responsive and sustainable.

 

 

The Municipal Engineering Office/Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Gregster Cortes expressed his strong commitment to utilize the CBMS data in shaping future municipal plans and programs. The office recognized the value of accurate and updated statistics in formulating effective infrastructure projects, land use strategies, and development priorities for the municipality’s actual needs.
PSA-Siquijor expressed appreciation for the LGU’s cooperation and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality statistics that will aid in improving the lives of Siquijodnons.
